As a Translator you may faced some challenges finding the best tools and necessary materials, and as such guidance’s when doing your translations, for private and for companies. Ethiostar have some tips and guidance prepared for you to use, including templates and softwares, and more.
Most of the times we lose time to search for meaning and the right documents online and sometimes we end up on scammy websites and useless tools and tips, we here at Ethiostar will prepare time by time the necessary resources to aid translator, customers, clients, organization and anyone in need to find the best linguistic tools, tips, sources and more, all for free.
Tips and Best Practices
- It is always recommended to use a Laptop or a Desktop when doing professional works, since phones are tiny devices and there a lot of distraction, and many tools we find on computers are not found on phones.
- If the translation requires you to open certain apps, like word, excel, pdf or else, and if you don’t have the premium apps, it is always recommended to use the free apps.
- For Communication and Networking our best recommendation is Gmail and a linkedIn profile.
- Gmail provides all necessary tools, security and formality (if you use a formal name), while linkedin is your CV, profile, Portfolio sometimes, hence having an attractive profile will make you stand among others
- For Messaging and Connection, we recommend WhatsApp over other messaging apps, such as telegram and other due to its security and other factors.
- When doing your work we recommend quite place, where you can focus.
- Never use google translator or any other AI driven software when doing your work, as by now, it is to recognize AI made translations and human made one.
- For availability and better access to your file, we recommend having a structure and organized folder, so it is easy for you to access anytime.
- For any emergency, damage, or loss, keep a copy of your data in the cloud, Companies such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, and more provide free Storages to save your data, this way your data will accessibly anywhere anytime you want.
