This year, we’d like to take a moment to recognize the incredible work of Timnit Gebru, a computer scientist and artificial intelligence (AI) researcher who has made groundbreaking contributions to the field.
Timnit Gebru’s Contributions to AI
Timnit Gebru was a research scientist at Google AI, where she leads the Ethical Artificial Intelligence (AI) team. She is also a co-founder of Black in AI, a grassroots organization that works to increase the presence of Black people in the field of AI. Timnit Gebru’s research focuses on the ethical implications of AI and its potential to cause harm to marginalized communities.
